Notes from Tom Urban...
January 18
It's a new year and it's time to start thinking about Adventure Racing. We are going to try a winter race. The date will be March 6. Length of race will be 4-6hrs. Details are still be worked out, but there will be biking, snowshoeing, steep (fixed rope) snow climbing, orienteering, human dog-sledding. Cost will be $20 - $30 per person, depending on cost of sleds. Teams will consist of 2,3, & 4 people.
These cheap races can only be put on with the help of others. If you would like to volunteer drop me a line. More info to follow.
February 9
The adventure race is still on for March 6. The cost will be $25 per person. The cost will get you sleds & maps. The disciplines will include biking, trekking, navigation, steep snow ascending, HUMAN DOG SLEDDING. No solo's, any combination of teammates up to 4 allowed.
The area will be around Georgetown. Starting time will be 9:00am. The race will take 4-6 hrs.
Bring typical AR gear with extra warm clothes. You will need a rope to pull the sled. The length will be up to you according to how you want to pull it.
